The Parrot Beak® Story

| Liftomatic was
founded in 1947 by two guys armed with an innovative design -
a two wheel hand truck that grabbed a drum by the top lip to
keep it from falling over during transport. The
development was a first in U.S. industry (or perhaps anywhere). That hand truck used an upper
and lower jaw arrangement that a customer remarked looked
"just like a parrot beak". Over the years new
products for different applications were introduced - still
using that remarkably simple "Parrot Beak®"
arrangement.
